Prof. Sang Cheol Kim is an Assistant Professor under the Presidential Young Professorship at National University of Singapore. Prior to joining NUS, Prof. Kim was an inaugural Stanford Energy Postdoctoral Fellow, where he worked with Prof. Steven Chu (1997 Nobel Laureate in Physics, former US Secretary of Energy) at Stanford University. He obtained his MS and PhD degrees in materials science and engineering from Stanford University, working with Prof. Yi Cui. Prior to his PhD, he worked at LG Chem, a leading Li-ion battery manufacturer, for 3 years after getting his Bachelor’s degrees from Duke University in mechanical engineering & materials science and in chemistry.
